Letter From Pastor Troy
Welcome! I am so glad that you have discovered Gethsemane. We are a growing church that is excited about God and what He is doing in our midst. This church is about more than just a building, it’s about living out our love for God and expressing our love for others. From fun events like our Oktoberfest, to organizing teams to go out into our community and make a difference, we are all about being the church! In the six plus years that I have been Senior Pastor of Gethsemane, I have experienced highs and lows, hardships and celebrations, but through it all and no matter what, this church has remained about Jesus, how He loves us and how He is calling us to love others.
Growing up, I never thought that I would be a pastor. Now that I have been a pastor for over ten years, I don’t know how I would be anything else. I am thankful for a wife and two daughters who keep me in line, love and support me in what I do. I like to tell people I golf for fun, run and bike for exercise and find enjoyment in a good craft beer with friends and family. As a pastor, I think it is important to meet people where they are at and relate with them in a real world way. I believe God challenges us for more in life, but still loves us just the way we are. This can be a challenging message to convey, yet we see it so clearly in Jesus.
I believe that God has put us just where he needs us to accomplish the very work He has created us to do. This is true for us as individuals and it’s true for us as a church. We have a great future, God’s not done working in us, on us, or through us. When we give ourselves over to His plans, He opens for us a future we can’t even imagine. We are beginning to see what He has been up to among us at Gethsemane and are excited about an upcoming building campaign and expansion of our current campus.
We’d love to meet you if we haven’t already. Join us for worship on a Sunday or sign-up to serve with us in the community. We’re not perfect, but we are working on becoming the church that God is calling us to be, we hope to see you soon!
