GC Students 6th-12th grade
Our student ministry offers a variety of activities for students 6th-12th grade to grow in their faith and relationships with one another.
Small Group Nights
At Gethsemane we believe that life is better when shared. Twice a month on average we gather our Middle School and High School Students for small group nights. We will begin as a large group for a brief Bible teaching and then break into small groups. The small group time will include Bible study, discussion and an opportunity for students to build relationships. Depending on the night, the evening will close with social time (trips to Dutch Bros., open gyms, organized games or special projects).
At Gethsemane we believe in taking fun seriously. We want Gethsemane to be a place your students want to be. Throughout the year, we will offer several connect events. These events are intended for students 6th-12th grade to have fun together and are a great opportunity to invite friends (Schnepf farms, student lunches, etc).
Serving the Community
As a church, we believe it is important to serve within our community. We have provided serving opportunities for students like Feed My Starving Children and playing cards at a local Senior Living Facility.
Our Middle School students go to Tonto Rim Christian Camp in May.
Our High School Students go to Tonto Rim Christian Camp in November.
Confirmation is offered for students in 7th and 8th Grade. This is an opportunity for students to make a public profession of their faith. Confirmation includes digging deeper into the Christian Faith. Students will study from the Bible and Luther’s small Catechism. Topics included are: Baptism, Communion, The 10 Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer and the creeds. This material will be taught in two yearly intensive sessions that will include large group teaching, small group discussion, worship and experiential elements.
- Fall Intensive: October 20th (6-9pm) and October 21st (9-11am)
- Winter Intensive: February 9th (6-9pm) and February 10th (9-11am)
